Neutral Heirloom Wedding Inspiration
I really appreciate when wedding inspiration and decor compliment the local environment and don't detract from the surrounding natural beauty. This styled shoot from British Columbia's Shuswap region (often passed over for the nearby Okanagan Valley, but not to be overlooked), offers a dramatic feel that would suit an elegant country wedding with the sort of pastoral backdrop featured here. The contrast of cream and white against a darker palette, the use of copper mugs, a sheepskin throw, and tufted dining chairs lend sophistication and richness to the scene, while retaining a sense of simplicity befitting a country affair. While dining furniture such as this might not be feasible for hosting an entire wedding reception, this table specifically would work perfectly for the bride + groom as it's especially photogenic and equally cozy. Of course keeping the rest of the wedding look pared down with a fitted gown, one-colour bridal bouquet, and a naked cake maintains an air of true elegance without requiring flash and glamour. Perfect for a country wedding!
