Winter Elopement Inspiration

When colder temperatures and inclement weather force the end of outdoor weddings for a season (or two!), many couples might be tempted to relinquish the idea of any outdoor backdrops for their big day.  But just because outdoor ceremonies and receptions are limited during the winter months in more northern climes, doesn't mean couples who love outdoor settings need to give up on having their elopement, cocktail hour or portraits take place in a frosty locale.

This styled shoot offers up both an inspiring palette and a host of ideas that beg to be incorporated into the soft winter light and chilly winter air, and would work well for an elopement as well as an outdoor winter cocktail hour for a wedding hosted at a ski lodge or cabin.  Mulled cider, Irish coffees, charcuterie and a plethora of outdoor patio heaters would easily beckon guests to don their dressiest wool pea coats, cable-knit scarves, boots and gloves to take part in a truly invigorating and cozy cocktail hour.
